Bull Moose

The moose is the largest member of the deer family. This one and another that is barely visible in this photo, were close to the road as we drove by. Lots of cars stopping to check them out, in spite of the pouring rain. In the park they refer to it as a Moose Jam. This animal is known as an Elk in Europe. The Elk found in North America is actually more closely related to the Red Deer of Europe.
