The Jeffreys Hook Lighthouse is a little red lighthouse that sits beneath the George Washington Bridge. It has an interesting history. It was popularized by a children's book, which saved it from demolition. Read a little more at this URL: http://www.hudsonlights.com/littlered.htm

@kairospix: Thank you. As luck would have it, I do have a closer shot. I took it several years ago, while taking a river tour. I took it with my point and shoot, but it shows some good detail. Since I have several shots already planned out from this recent journey, I will post it at the end.
